During the Venue Creation Wizard, you will be asked to upload your units to VAULT using a CSV file. Alternatively, you can navigate to the upload units page separately by accessing your Network Operator Console->Venues->upload units. You can also add a single unit to VAULT or modify venue units that have already been uploaded.
From the unit upload screen, click on "download template" to download a CSV template for unit uploads. Alternatively, you may export units if the Venue already has units and use that as the template.
Each column represents a value that VAULT needs in order to add a unit. The columns marked with a "*" are required fields. It's critical that you do not change any of the headers in the first row of the template, or your unit upload may fail. That includes not removing the "*".
Unit ID: This is the ID for the unit.
Building: This is the building ID for the unit.
Floor: This is the floor ID for the unit.
Purpose: This is what the unit will be used for;
"wiredunit": Use this value for a traditional residential unit where there is wired and wireless service available. This will be the value for most of your units.
"localwirelessonly": Use this value for non-physical units, such a guest subscription. VAULT requires a unit-to-VLAN association for all subscriptions, including guest subscriptions. These users will only have wireless access to the venue. As a best practice, your networking team should enable "client isolation" on this VLAN on the network. These units will appear in the available list to Add a Guest.
"globalroaming": Use this value for a non-physical unit for roaming users to be assigned to when they roam to this venue. The VLAN associated with this unit is the VLAN roaming devices will be placed on. As a best practice, your networking team should enable "client isolation" on this VLAN on the network.
Address 1, Address 2, City, State, Postal Code, Country: This is the address information for the unit, which can be different, or the same as, the address information for the venue.
VLAN: This is the VLAN for the unit. All subscriptions added to this unit will be placed on this VLAN. If you do not enter a VLAN in this column, VAULT will pull an available VLAN from the Venue's VLAN Ranges.
Unit Internal ID: If you are making an update to a unit, you may enter the Unit Internal ID to ensure VAULT recognizes the existing unit.
Unit External ID: Use this value for a unit ID that is external to VAULT, such as your own company's unit ID.
Shopping Cart Price Adjustment: If you are offering retail services using the Shopping Cart, you may provide a unit level discount to subscribers who sign up for service in this unit. Any discount you apply here will be applied to all subscribers who sign up for service in this unit until you remove the discount.
Once you've completed your template, save the file as a CSV. VAULT will not recognize other formats. Click the "Upload Units" button and select your file using your operating systems file explore. The upload will begin immediately.
If you receive an error during the unit upload, VAULT will stop processing the unit upload. VAULT iterates through your upload file one row at a time, beginning from the top. You will need to correct the error VAULT provided and remove the rows from your CSV file that were processed successfully. Once complete, save the file and try the upload again.
From your Network Operator Console->Venues->Add Unit. Select the Venue, and then enter the same information for each unit as you would during a unit upload.
