# Migrating a Venue to VAULT From Another Provider

VAULT makes migrating subscribers and Venues from alternative platforms quick and easy. To start, the first thing you'll want to do is [create the Venue in VAULT.](/network-administrator-console/creating-a-new-venue.md)

### How Do I Import my Subscribers?

When it is time to import your subscribers, the VAULT team will assist. We will ask you to provide a [subscriber upload CSV](/network-administrator-console/managing-your-subscribers/add-subscribers-to-a-venue.md#how-to-use-the-subscriber-upload-template) with one additional column, which is the subscriber's current Wi-Fi password.

The VAULT team will then work their magic to allow your migrated subscribers to be imported, maintaining their existing Wi-Fi password.

### Will My Subscribers Be Impacted?

That's the beauty of migration. No. With our migration process, your subscribers will retain access to the Wi-Fi. The only impact on the subscribers will be access to VAULT's subscriber portal.

### What Is the Process For a Migration?

Here is the recommended process and timelines for migrating subscribers into the VAULT platform. These are flexible and can be adjusted with your VAULT Account Manager and your internal Customer Support team.

1. [Create the venue in VAULT.](/network-administrator-console/creating-a-new-venue.md)
2. 7 days prior to going live: We recommend you notify all of your subscribers of the upcoming change. Inform them that they are going to be invited to sign up and login to a new Wi-Fi portal, but that their service will not be disrupted.
3. 72 hours prior to going live: Remind your subscribers of the upcoming change. Inform them that they are going to be invited to sign up and login to a new Wi-Fi portal, but that their service will not be disrupted.
4. 48 hours prior to going live: Provide your VAULT Account Manager with a [subscriber upload CSV](/network-administrator-console/managing-your-subscribers/add-subscribers-to-a-venue.md#how-to-use-the-subscriber-upload-template), with one additional column, which is the subscriber's current Wi-Fi password. The VAULT team will then upload the subscribers to the Venue for you. **Note: The VAULT team must perform this step in order to keep the subscriber's existing Wi-Fi passwords active**.
5. At this time, e-mails will be sent to subscribers inviting them to log in and create their new VAULT account.
6. Going Live: Your networking team [modifies the configuration](/network-equipment/access-point-configuration-guides.md) on your controller to point the network at VAULT's servers. Subscribers are now authenticating against the VAULT system without ever losing connectivity.
